Sorrel drink
- 200 g sugar
- 300 ml Mineral water
- 3-4 handfuls common sorrel
- Club soda (optional)
- Blender
- Fine mesh strainer
- Make a sugar syrup by pouring just boiled water over sugar and stir until it dissolves. Let cool.
- Put the cooled syrup in a blender with the sorrel. Compress sorrel leaves to make room for it all. Blend until smooth, and strain through a piece of cloth or a fine mesh strainer.
- Drink as it is, or mix with a splash of club soda.
Tips
This recipe is actually a sorrel syrup, which adds flavor to other drinks. Try adding a bit to your mojito or similar drinks. The sorrel can be substituted with other herbs, depending on what flavor you desire.
